Edge Adds Support for Banxa

Edge Adds Support for Banxa
  1. What is Edge and why does it matter?
    • Edge is a self-custody exchange. This matters because in the cryptocurrency world most people are still looking to invest in various assets and currently go to centralized exchanges to do so. Edge provides a lot of the functionality of centralized exchanges while giving users the self-custody that crypto was designed for. With that comes a higher level of privacy, autonomy, and security.
  2. What chains does Edge support and at what capacity?
    • Edge supports the following chains: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Monero, Ethereum, Zcash, Polkadot, Ethereum Classic, Binance Chain, Solana, Bitcoin SV, Litecoin, XRP, Rootstock, Stellar, Dash, Tezos, Digibyte, Vertcoin, Ravencoin, QTUM, Feathercoin, FIRO, Telos, Fantom, Hedera, Polygon, Avalanche, CELO, Doge, and FIO. Beyond this, Edge supports a multitude of notable Ethereum-based tokens such as Chainlink, Aave, Dai, and more.
    • Most chains are supported with exchange functionality via crypto-to-crypto swaps. We support a few of these for purchases and sales to/from fiat. For all assets, users can send and receive them to/from any other wallet they choose.
  3. There are so many different wallets, what makes Edge different?
    • There are many wallets because the definition of a wallet is vague, ambiguous, and does not accurately describe the functionality of an app. Edge differentiates itself by being a self-custody exchange with rich functionality to buy, sell, and trade crypto. Most of all, Edge differentiates with its unique key management architecture which eliminates the need for backing up 12–24 random words. Edge provides a Web2 login style interface but with all the security, privacy, and autonomy benefits of Web3.
  4. Why is Banxa integrated with Edge and what value does this add for users?
    • Banxa has the most global and local payment options of any other provider in market, which gives Edge’s customers plenty of options for buying and selling crypto. By using Banxa, Edge’s customers enjoy an easier and smoother customer experience as they no longer need to use two separate apps: a centralized exchange, and a self-custody wallet. The two products vertically integrate as one with a seamless experience preventing the frequent mistake of “leaving funds” on a custodial exchange.
